Rosarito Beach is a hoot! Just south of the San Diego/USA border (the highway bypasses Tijuana) this famous town has, well, everything to please the eye, and the pocketbook. Overlooking the beach, located within feet of your own pool, there’s a handy restaurant, and after a stroll down to the mighty Pacific — horseback riding, surf fishing, just squeezing your feet in the sand brings pleasure, and so on and so forth.

Our redecorated units are up to par with the best, with flowery pathways leading you to the fitness center, tennis courts, the Jacuzzi and sauna. Down the road is the famed Rosarito Beach Hotel, miles of quaint shops with all things Mexican for sale (Afraid of bargaining? Well, give it a try.)

If you can possibly get bored in this lively atmosphere, a road trip down to Puerto Nuevo, where lobster and delicious Margaritas are fresh and inexpensive, or father along to Ensenada and the famous La Bufadora are required attractions. A relatively new wine industry has established itself nearby, inland, and is definitely worth the motor trip. You’ll be surprised at the quality, which Californians have known about for years.
